I’ve released a small update to LastHistory, fixing an issue on OS X 10.7 (Lion) and possibly other systems where the history was not downloaded. Thanks to Rish for pointing out the issue!

A quick heads-up for all of you trying out LastHistory just now: when creating a new visualization, it is better not to interact with the program until the history is fully downloaded.

There seems to be a threading issue that can cause the application to crash when hovering over nodes while the download is still in progress.

LastHistory is a new visualization for Last.fm profiles. Visualizing an entire music listening history on the track-level on a two-dimensional timeline, it allows you to dive into your history, finding that track that you played 42 times in a row back in 2007, listening to the playlists long deleted, finding out that you gradually moved from hip-hop to minimal electronic, and that you only listen to Radiohead between October and December.

What’s more, it shows your iPhoto library alongside your listening history, ready to show the perfect photo slideshow from your last summer vacation while listening to that album you played every morning at the beach.
